Bike polo tournament - August 17 2008

May 16, 2008 by rakan

Put it in your diaries now, the next big London bike polo tournament will take place on August 17th 2008 in conjunction with the Shoreditch Festival and the Tour de Shoreditch. We are sorting an exciting new court which should be a great improvement on the Brick Lane area. The festival organisers are expecting around 5000 people to show up to the event so it will be a great showcase for polo.

If you are interested in taking part, post here to register your teams interest (or if you dont have a team to find other people who are in the same position). We also need volunteers to help out, leave a comment or post on that thread.

More details soon!

8th Annual Bicycle Film Festival LONDON
October 1-5, 2008
Barbican Cinema
Barbican Centre
Silk Street, London

The Bicycle Film Festival celebrates the bicycle. We are into all styles of bikes and biking. If you can name it-Tall Bike Jousting, Track Bikes, BMX, Alleycats, Critical Mass, Bike Polo, Cycling to Recumbents- we’ve probably either ridden or screened it. What better way to celebrate these lifestyles than through art, film, music and performance? We bring together all aspects of bicycling together to advocate its ability to transport us in many ways. Ultimately the Fest is about having a good time.

Interested in volunteering for the festival?

Paris bike polo

April 28, 2008 by rakan

Yorgo (who kicked us off playing polo in London this time last year) seems to have done it again in Paris:

We just started playing Polo in Paris, and it’s fucking awesome!!! We found the BEST spot ever. An empty fountain at the Palais De Tokyo, the contemporary art museum/skate spot on the banks for the Seine River, almost in front of the Eiffel tower. Big flat walled surface, no hassle from other users, central, stunningly classy, toilets and bar nearby, tricks area, chill-out zone, etc…
